2011 Subaru Outback Review

Tuesday 8 March 2011

Balance was the key to victory when the Subaru Outback won Motor Trends Sport Utility of the Year in 2010 and for 2011, nothing has changed. The Outback shines with SUV versatility but without any of the SUV penalties. Subaru was able to combining large interior space, exceptional ground clearance, comfortable on road ride, amazing off road capabilities healthy performance and fuel economy into a perfect package. While other comparable vehicles in the segment need V-8's to move their massive machines, the Outback manages surprisingly well with only four and six cylinder options due in large part to weighing just under 3700 pounds. But the lack of a few cylinders in no way hampers the Outback's abilities both on and off road. It's quite impressive that Subaru was able to give us a vehicle that offers a day-to-day ride that's smooth and quiet while at the same time providing us with all-weather and off-road competence that almost unmatched in the segment.
