Paris Motor Show: Jaguar C-X75 Electric Supercar Revealed

Jaguar has unveiled the revolutionary C-X75 concept at the 2010 Paris Motor Show to pay tribute to 75 years of existence and give us a brief idea of where the automaker is headed towards.

The C-X75 is the new extended-range electric supercar concept car from Jaguar, with mind-boggling features. Equipped with two micro gas-turbines revolving at 80,000 rpm, the electric supercar is set to give an estimated range of 560 miles with just 28 grams of CO2 per km after the car’s usual plug-in charge range of 110 km with zero tailpipe emissions on a six-hour domestic plug-in charge. Four 195 hp electric motors dedicated to each wheel will deliver a total of 780 hp and up to 1600 Nm of torque, taking the concept car from naught to 100 km/h in merely 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 330km/h. An 80-145 km/h run will take just sweet 2.3 seconds.

The prime attracting factor for this concept car is the gas turbine. Weighing just 35 kg each, the turbines produce a constant 70kW and can be set to boost the car’s power when set in “track mode”. And Jaguar, as usual, has designed a very elegant car this year too. A quick look at the key points:
