Maruti Suzuki revamps talent management policies

India's leading car maker Maruti Suzuki is revamping its talent management practices in a bid to counter poaching from other car makers. Competitors like Volkswagen , BMW , Audi , Honda and Hyundai have been offering higher salaries to the company's top talent.

Maruti Suzuki is planning to induct younger professionals into to the senior management cadre. It has also come up with plans to link salaries to performance. The company has also hiked its entry-level pay. It has also increased performance-linked pay by between 10% and 25% , which will apply to from junior levels to the top management.
"We have linked our variable pay to the financial performance of the company with a greater focus on cash variables as the liability is lower , " said S.Y Siddiqui , Managing Executive Officer , HR & Administration , Maruti Suzuki.
